BROWSING STRATEGIES : Surfing the net :)

The World Wide Web (abbreviated as WWW and commonly known as the Web) is a system of interlinked hypertext documents accessed via the internet. With a web browser, one can view web pages that may contain text, images, videos, and other multimedia and navigate between them via hyper links.User can use a browser to visit Web sites using their web address or by using search engines that help find what they are looking for. 





Internet Surfing Tools refers to the whole collection of software and technological adaptations which are meticulously designed and developed to enhance, improve and secure the process of Internet Surfing




Tools needed to surf the web:-

1.Computer with a web browser application installed

2. Modem and/or NIC (network interface card)

3. ISP (internet service provider)




What is a Web Browser?

Browser, short for web browser, is a software application used to enable computers users to locate and access web pages. Browsers translates the basic HTML (Hypertext Mark Up Language) code that allows us to see images, text videos and listen to audios on websites, along with hyperlinks that let us travel to different web pages. The browser gets in contact with the web server and requests for information. The web server receives the information and displays it on the computer.
Examples :Internet Explorer , Netscape Navigator ,Firefox Mozilla, Opera and Safari (for Mac operating system)

What Is a Modem?

A modem (modulator-demodulator) is a device that modulates an analog carrier signal to encode digital information, and also demodulates such a carrier signal to decode the transmitted information. The goal is to produce a signal that can be transmitted easily and decoded to reproduce the original digital data.

What is a NIC?

The hardware device that connects your computer to a network.  


What is a ISP?
An Internet service provider (ISP) is an organization that provides access to the Internet. Access ISPs directly connect clients to the Internet using copper wires, wireless or fiber optics connections. Hosting ISPs lease server space for smaller businesses and other people colocation. Transit ISPs provide large amounts of Bandwidth for connecting hosting ISPs to access ISPs.
