VIRTUAL vs ELECTRONIC : Problems :)

VIRTUAL LEARNING  is an education system based on the web that models conventional real-world education by integrating a set of equivalent virtual concepts for tests, homework, classes, classrooms, and the like, and perhaps even museums and other external academic resources.

In the simple word, Virtual learning refers to the components in which lecturers and students participate in  “on-line” interactions which is on-line learning.

ELECTRONIC LEARNING is a kind of virtual or distance education to deliver content by electronic means through the use of the Internet, Intranet, or CD-ROM, and is aimed at effective learning in real time.

E-learning can be implemented in a variety of ways, such as through the use of self-paced independent study units, asynchronous interactive sessions (where participants interact at different times) or synchronous interactive settings (where learners meet in real time).

Difficult to get coverage for rural area
As for students who live in rural areas, they will faced this coverage problems. As we all know, internet coverage is the main item that we have to used in order to used this learning method. The learning process cannot be run if they do not have this coverage....

Requires access to PC
Rather than internet coverage, this type of learning method requires access to PC which used in video-conferencing,sending e-mail, outsourcing information and many more....

Hard to take account of whatever hardware the students have to work with off-campus
As for student who is not afford to have all those kinds of gadget such as laptop, they will used all the facilities in the campus. It will not be a problem for them to finished the task during class because all facilities is there, but they will face a problem during semester break because, they do not have any of facilities to be used to finished up the work....

Reduces face to face contact
By using video conferencing method in learning, it will reduces face to face contact with other person. For example, the students might not have a chance to meet their lecturer face to face if they have a problem with their works. Although they can asked their lecturer via video conferencing, but " consultation between students and lecturer" face to face will increase the understanding of the students in studies.
